Our story began with some difficult questions and honest answers from the millennial generation. Why was this generation leaving the church in droves? We noticed a dramatic shift and mass exodus of the next generation from the Church. 

With the increase of people leaving the church and the rise of churchlessness in America, we knew we could no longer continue with business as usual. 

We asked the question, what is a New Testament Church supposed to look like in 2020? 

Then, the global pandemic hit! 

However, something beautiful was born during the middle of the pandemic. In a time of much uncertainty and loss, the pandemic gave us an opportunity to hit the reset button and start over; to start something new. So, in a backyard in Yorba Linda, California a core group of 40 devoted followers of Christ began to gather for church. The words of the prophet Zechariah became our prayer, “Return to me, says the Lord of hosts, and I will return to you” Zechariah 1:3. Equipped with only our bibles and acoustic instruments, we began to return to His Worship, return to His Word, and return to His Ways. 

We discovered we don’t need another worship experience; we need an encounter with the Living God. We discovered we don’t need to be entertained; we need to be equipped through the Living Word. We discovered we don’t need manufactured hype; we need the Living Hope that is only found in Jesus Christ. We discovered and started New Life Church.
