Global Missions

”But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8

We are a witness! We have a responsibility to serve the living water to the thirsty in our community and to the ends of the earth. Our mission is the same as Christ’s mission, to minister to the needs of the spiritually and physically poor.

“Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.” James 1:27

Worship that is pleasing to God is one that helps the fatherless and widows. That is why we partner with a non-profit organization called Manna World-wide. Their mission is to rescue children from the grip of poverty. In the areas we concentrate we are focused on helping those who are living in extreme poverty. And as the NLC ministry grows, we can grow in meeting the needs of children living without the most basic needs in other areas. Currently, we are focused in these areas:

Honduras

Rescuing children from the grip of poverty in Honduras

• Honduras is the 2nd poorest Country in Central America

• 66% of Hondurans live in poverty

• 1 out 5 live in extreme poverty

• Children average 7 years of education because most must work to survive

• Children are being exploited

• The areas we concentrate, people are living on less than $2 a day

• The average American household makes $70k per year, the average Honduran household makes $2,400 per year

• The areas we concentrate, people spend all their money on the most basic need of water

We partner with Manna World-Wide to provide the most basic needs to children who suffer most in Honduras. Water for Life(see more at https://mannaworldwide.com/drill-a-well)

Opportunities in Honduras

• Provide nutrition for a hungry child at one of our feeding centers ($1 a day feeds a hungry child)

• Meet the needs of orphaned children

• Provide education

• Meet spiritual needs through church planting

• Meet the children and families on one of our mission trips to the Philippines

The Philippines

The Philippines

Rescuing children from the grip of poverty in the Philippines

• The Philippines ranks ninth in the world for stunted growth in children due to malnutrition

• 4 million people are living in unstable shelter throughout the slums of Metro Manila

• At risk children in Metro Manila (or at an increased risk) daily face inadequate care, economic or sexual exploitation, abuse, neglect and violence.

• Poverty is fuelling online child sex abuse in the slums. The live streaming of child pornography in these locations has led UNICEF to name the Philippines the global epicenter of the online child sex abuse trade

• The areas we concentrate, people are living on less than $2 a day

• Nearly half of the families in Metro Manila fall underthe$2,000-$4,980 annual income class. This translates to roughly$400 monthly household income. Recent news paper and television broadcasts report that a family of five in Metro Manila would require at least $300 to meet basic needs.

• The areas we concentrate, people struggle to provide their most basic needs of food
